Just got word that a project that I worked on with Drew Melton and Neil Hubert for Louise Fili was showcased on Inspiration Hut. Check out some cool behind the scenes shots and sketches from Drew and Neil as the project came together. This was a great group to be a part of, and hopefully we’ll get to work on something else soon.
So the good people over at Wonderful Machine featured one of my recent tear sheets which is pretty cool. This was shot for an issue of Today’s Chicago Woman magazine, the article was about stress in the workplace which is a pretty basic thing but the art director at the magazine loved the idea of pushing it a bit more so we decided to fill a room with papers and go from there. I love how this turned out, big thanks to my model and team as well on this.
I was recently asked to do a couple shoots for Rapid Growth here in Grand Rapids. The first was a shot of their new head photographer Adam Bird, and the second of local personal trainer Charlie Williams. Rapid Growth is a great place to check out whats new and going on in town so be sure to check it out.
Well here we go again, it’s a new year. This year I decided to kick things off with another great phone call to the amazing Amanda Sosa Stone. She is an amazing consultant that helped me get the ball rolling last year about this time, and it’s always a pleasure to work with her. I’m looking forward to a lot of things this year, a few that are already in the works, and a handful of ideas as well. I’m not a big fan of the whole “new years resolution” thing, but this year my goal is to learn more, shoot, more and experience the world a hell of a lot more.
Here’s to 2012!
The last couple weeks have been amazing. I was able to spend some time using photography to give back to some very deserving people. My good friend Andrew Maguire and I headed off to be a part of Help Portrait over in Ann Arbor this year, if you haven’t heard of it take some time to check out their site. It was an amazing event to say the least. Next a group of local photographers teamed up to do a ton of senior photos for inner city kids calling it GRadPics. I have to say my hats off to everyone involved in making both of these events possible. I really hope this takes place again next year. After doing a few things like this it was a great reminder of how lucky I am to be able to do what I do every day. There are so many good people out there struggling, and it felt great to take a small portion of time to let them know that they are loved.
So I figured it was about time to make a post about a project that I’ve been working on for about a year now. I started a second blog heykeepliving.tumblr.com which has been a place to post snapshots, and things that I found interesting for some reason or another. This project started as a reason for me to keep taking and posting photographs even if they weren’t perfect, but it has grown to mean much more. It has pushed me creatively, and has turned into a key phrase for my life. I’m posting this now because I have some fun things in the works for this project so check it out, stay tuned, and Keep Living…
Last week was spent traveling from MI to L.A., San Francisco, and Sacramento for a few shoots. Got to spend lots of time with a view like this as well. I have to say I love getting away every now and then but it never seems like I get to see enough while I’m gone.
